Caucasia

Caucasia is an interesting book in my eyes. I cant figure out whether I like it or not because their are so many parts I hate but I cant stop reading. I kind of see this book like McFarland because we are a segregated school in some ways. This book made me see the other side of things and that everybody goes through things, no matter what color. I have known that for quite some time, but I never really understood how people treated eachother and how badly just a skin color can change someones life so much.

I love the sisters relationship in this book, it is a friendship that no friend can have because your sister will ALWAYS be there.

  1. I agree with you Alysha. I really dont like this book BUT it really does kind of remind me of McFarland. I feel like we sometimes shut people of color out and kind of try to ignore them but having classes with them and such I really got to know them and they are really cool people and I just feel bad because we instantly judge people by what color they look or what they wear.

  2. I DONT LIKE THIS BOOK AT ALL. It's slow and confusing. Towards the end of the book it's getting a bit more entertaining, but not really... It will take a lot for me to focus all my attention on Caucasia. I agree with you about loving the sisters relationship though! It's sooo cute, caring, and loving! I can't relate to the whole 'sister' aspect, but I do have a wonderful brother. :)
