Caucasia is an interesting book in my eyes. I cant figure out whether I like it or not because their are so many parts I hate but I cant stop reading. I kind of see this book like McFarland because we are a segregated school in some ways. This book made me see the other side of things and that everybody goes through things, no matter what color. I have known that for quite some time, but I never really understood how people treated eachother and how badly just a skin color can change someones life so much.
I love the sisters relationship in this book, it is a friendship that no friend can have because your sister will ALWAYS be there.

I agree with you Alysha. I really dont like this book BUT it really does kind of remind me of McFarland. I feel like we sometimes shut people of color out and kind of try to ignore them but having classes with them and such I really got to know them and they are really cool people and I just feel bad because we instantly judge people by what color they look or what they wear.
ReplyDeleteI DONT LIKE THIS BOOK AT ALL. It's slow and confusing. Towards the end of the book it's getting a bit more entertaining, but not really... It will take a lot for me to focus all my attention on Caucasia. I agree with you about loving the sisters relationship though! It's sooo cute, caring, and loving! I can't relate to the whole 'sister' aspect, but I do have a wonderful brother. :)
